It’s time for another book tag challenge! This time, it’s the Beauty and the Beast book tag challenge!
How could I not take part in this challenge? Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney animated classic! (the less said about the live action version the better!)
As usual, I’ve done this challenge on YouTube, an I’m far more thorough in the video, so please do chck that out below. But if you don’t have time, I’ve done a Lite version of the challenge below in article form!
“Here’s where she meets Prince Charming” Your OTP
It’s never going to not be Katniss and Peeta. Fight me. It’s YA but not Insta love – he’s loved her for years before the Hunger Games and she grows to love him over the yaers during and after. They constantly see the best in the other, they save each other for a multitude of reasons and I think they bring out the best in each other throughout the books.
“I want so much more than this provincial life” A character destined for greater things.
Evangeline Samos from the piece of shit Red Queen series. We all know I think this series is garbage. But this one character showed potential and I actually really enjoyed the bits of the books that she was in. She was lethal, calculating, didn’t put up with Mare’s shit and had a legitimate and relatable reason for doing what she was doing and then got shafted by the author in the final books. She got forgot about and I’m like…NO! She is the BEST thing about this whole series – except maybe the covers! She deserved more. If a novella came out just about her…I mean, I wouldn’t read it if Aveyard wrote it, but if someone else did? Hell yeah, Evangeline was awesome!
“Be our guest!” A book that made you hungry.
I guess it’ll have to be Three Dark Crowns. The Gave Noir scene went into loads of detail about all of the posioned food that was available for Kat to eat, and even though it was all poisonous, I wanted to eat it! Things like scorpions in their sparkling sugar coffins and a mushroom stew. Mmmm.
“Beauty and the Beast” Opposites attract.
Dramione! Ok, fine, I can’t do a ship cos they aren’t technically real… How about Rhen and Harper from A Curse So Dark and Lonely? No? I can’t use them either because it’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling? Fine, then I guess Hideo and Emika from Warcross. He’s a bilionaire developer and she’s a no-budget hacker.
“But there’s something in him that I simply didn’t see” A character who is more than they appear
How can it be anyone other that the origial, The OG arrogant heart-throb himself, Mr Darcy!
“I was innocent and certain, now I’m wiser but unsure” A book that changed you in some way.
This is a wierd choice but Ready Player One. This book really brought me into sci-fi, which is a genre I’d never usually pick-up or be that into, but this was so accessible and I’ve since goven the genre more of a try!
“Kill the Beast!” A book you picked up because of hype
Turtles All the Way Down. John Green has lost his way. I said this before about this book – I think he’s relied on his name to sell it – because it’s crap. Uninspiring story and bad characters…even the writing was wamp wamp. Hyped book, but not worth the hype.
“I’ll never shake away the pain” A book or moment that always makes you cry. They Both Die At The End. Every time. Amazing book, but my god it’s sad.
“How does a moment last forever” A book that you’ve loved since you were little. I’m gonna have to be cliché and say Harry Potter, I like others from my childhood, but I still love this one.
And that’s it for the Beauty and the Beast book tag challenge! I had a lot of fun with this one, and I’m looking forward to doing more tag challenges in the future! If you liked this one, be sure to check out my Nope tag challenge!
