There’s no easy way for me to say this, so I’m just going to have to be blunt about it, especially as I’m feeling numb about the whole situation anyway, now that I’ve gone through my crying and screaming phase.
My landlord has decided that he wants to live where my partner and I currently live. Therefore he has given us notice to quit our flat. Meaning we have less than three months to find somewhere new to live, (during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC 🙃) or be homeless for Christmas as we need to be gone before Dec 22nd.
It’s a less than ideal situation. In fact, it’s a downright shitty situation. Luckily we have been saving for a deposit for our own house for quite some time now. Unluckily, our 10% deposit doesn’t mean much right now as apparently lenders want 15% for a deposit during these ‘uncertain times’ 😑.
Naturally pretty much all of my efforts are now going in to: a) Finding a place to live b) Finding the extra money to afford the place that we eventually find.
So with all my attention going into finding somewhere to live, I won’t have much time to write blog posts, book reviews or do my usual bookish content here or on YouTube. Which I’m seriously bummed out about. I just want you to know that I HAVE NOT QUIT THE BOOKISH LIFE – I just have to put it on hold for a little while.
I might be able to put out a small post here or there, but my content will be severely reduced until this is all sorted.
I just wanted to let you know and thank you for your patience. I’ll be back with a vengeance as soon as I can be! I promise this isn’t the end!
