So 2020 is nearly over (OMG it’s been a hell of a year!) and I’m rushing to get some books that I REALLY want to read settled cosily into the ‘I read this book in this year’ category!
Obviously there’s loads of books I really wanna read, and that’s just not feasible, so I’ve narrowed the list down to 5 that I think are manageable for me during this final month of 2020!
I’ve also done a quick, short video on this is if you wanna watch!
But just incase you can’t watch, here’s my list:
Shine – Jessica Jung
I really wanna have a light, fluffy read to see the year out, so what better than a K-Pop book written by an ex k-pop idol? And not just from any K-Pop group – Girl’s Generation! One of the biggest k-pop groups ever! I read K-Pop Confidential and loved it, so I really wanna see what a book from someone with experience is like!
Harrow Lake – Kat Ellis
I meant to get to this in October, but it didn’t happen. I wanna read this for the cheese, the campiness and the (hopefully) high body count! I’m here for the B-movie vibes and wanna feel them all!
Cemetery Boys – Aiden Thomas
Trans representation in a LatinX culture with magic? Sign my ass up! I can not wait to get to this! I’ve heard it’s quite romance heavy, but I really hope I don’t lose out on some of the magic elements that I’m hoping for. I’ve heard so many people praise this book and I can’t wait.
Mexican Gothic – Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I know nothing about this book at all, and that’s how I want to keep it. I know it has a gorgeous cover, a haunting premise and was ALL over bookstagram. I also know that it constantly gets super high ratings and positive reviews and I want to go into this one blind!
Crush – Tracy Wolff
Y’all know I’m a HUGE fan of Crave, the first book in this series. I wrote a glowing review on it and had a very special unboxing video for it too, and this is the sequel. So I REALLY want to dive into this one. I got it for my birthday and I’ve just not had the chance to get to it yet. I WILL remedy that before the end of 2020!
And that’s it! Those are the 5 books that I really want to try to get to before 2020 ends. Do you have any books you’re trying to finish before the New Year? Let me know in the comments!
